Robert (Bobby) M. Preston became a member of Quatela Chimeri (“QC”) in the fall of 2020, concentrating primarily in the areas of matrimonial and family law.
For over thirty years, Mr. Preston has handled highly complex domestic relations cases and appeals and has conducted a substantial number of trials relating to all phases of family law in the Supreme and Family courts throughout New York.
Prior to joining the QC team on Long Island, Mr. Preston co-chaired the New York Family Law department as a partner in the nationwide firm of Greenspoon Marder, LLP. Although he has always maintained offices on Long Island, in 2002 he moved his main office and staff to Manhattan following his first 12 years of practicing almost exclusively in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
Mr. Preston has represented individuals from all walks of life including celebrities, professional athletes, CEO’s of Fortune 500 companies, elected officials and executives in the finance sectors such as hedge funds, private equity firms and investment banks.
A Fellow of the New York Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), Mr. Preston has served on the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section of the New York State Bar Association as co-chair of the Family Court Subcommittee. He was appointed Chair of the Legislative Subcommittee for the Matrimonial Committee of the New York City Bar Association from 2016-2018 and was an investigator/member of the committee on Grievances for the Nassau County Bar Association.
Mr. Preston is a frequent lecturer of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs in New York, hosted by the AAML, NYSBA as well as the New York Law Journal, and he remains active in the Bronx High School of Science Alumni Association.
