Ms. Katz advises clients on all custody and financial issues, as well as prenuptial, postnuptial, separation, and mediated agreements. With over 40 years of experience, Ms. Katz provides her clients superior legal expertise, sound judgment, and exceptional attention to detail.
Ms. Katz achieves favorable settlements. If matters are incapable of settlement, she litigates. She has extensive trial and appellate experience. She also is a Certified Mediator, working with both parties. Since 2017 she has served as a Special Master in the Appellate Division First Department where she mediates matrimonial and family law appeals.
Ms. Katz’s professional affiliations include: the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the Association for Family and Conciliation Courts, the Family Law Committee of the New York County Bar Associations, and the Family Law Committee of the New York State Women’s Bar Association. She is a past Co-Chair of the Interdisciplinary Forum on Mental Health and Family Law, a specialized committee formed by lawyers, judges and mental health professionals to promote and explore the interplay between law and psychology in custody disputes.
Ms. Katz has consistently been recognized by her peers as a New York Super Lawyer, the Best Lawyers in New York, and among the Top 50 Women Lawyers in New York. Ms. Katz has lectured on financial and custody issues and has facilitated various parenting programs established by the New York State Supreme Court educating parents about the effects of divorce on children.
