Martin E. Friedlander, Esq. is an attorney who has been practicing matrimonial law for over thirty years. Mr. Friedlander started his law career by interning and later becoming the associate to Jeffrey S. Sunshine, Esq. who is now the Administrative Judge for Matrimonial matters for the State of New York. Mr. Friedlander is now the principal of Martin Friedlander, PC.
Additionally, Martin Friedlander, prior to his law career, was a Rabbi and has a Rabbinical ordination.
Martin is a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the International Academy of Family Lawyers, the Brooklyn Bar Association, and New York State Bar Association. Martin is also a court-approved mediator. He lectures regularly and has been featured in many CLE programs and lectures frequently for Associate of Family and Conciliation Courts conferences (AFCC), New York County Lawyers, Lawline, and the National Academy. Martin has also lectured for Nefesh International and Tahel, an organization for abused women, in Israel.
Martin has had his articles featured in the New York Law Journal, Matrimonial Strategist, and New York State Family Law Review.
He practices in all areas of matrimonial matters, as well as before the Appellate Divisions of New York State. Martin appears regularly before Rabbinical Courts and has extensive knowledge on the Get issues and Orthodox Jewish divorces. Martin is the co-founder of Yashar and has drafted the new Prenuptial Agreement under Jewish law. Martin Friedlander has been involved extensively in the areas of arbitration and has advised Rabbis on the procedures as well as divorce issues.
