Since 1985, Barry J. Fisher has exclusively practiced matrimonial law, family law and appeals.
Barry’s extensive knowledge, coupled with his empathy and understanding, enables him to zealously
represent his clients. He is a litigator who also has the training and skills to protect your rights and
negotiate an amicable settlement. Barry has a degree in accounting and was previously a tax
specialist with the international accounting firm of Deloitte, Haskins & Sells. His accounting and
tax background has been an invaluable asset when handling high net worth and complex financial
cases.
Barry is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, and has been honored in New York Super Lawyers and
Best Lawyers in America. Barry has been a Fellow in the AAML for 25 years. He has been an
active member of the New York Chapter, having served as Vice-President, a member of the Board
of Managers and Board of Examiners, and as Editor of their former publication, Matrimonial Law
Journal, which was sent to Fellows and judges throughout New York State.
Barry has served as Chair of the Appellate Practice and Matrimonial Law committees of the Nassau
County Bar Association and was a member of its Board of Directors. He also served as an Editor
of the Matrimonial Law Committee’s publication, Recent Decisions in Matrimonial Law. Barry has
also been a member of the Family Law Section Executive Committee of the New York State Bar
Association for 30 years. Barry has lectured and served as moderator for lectures for numerous
organizations on a wide variety of topics pertaining to matrimonial law, family law and appellate
practice. Barry has had decisions published in the New York Law Journal and co-authored an article
published in the Nassau Lawyer.
